Merry Christmas!! / God Jul!!

We had a white Christmas (mostly frost and not so much snow but still- white!) with really good food and company. Dinner was great and stress free and I made this super tasty dessert (fig and walnut tart- www.uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/632849 ) and we lit a fire and relaxed infront of it after dinner. Leah was very happy with her presents as you can see in the videos!

We took a shower together today and Leah stayed behind to play in the water and started singing. Ran as fast as my legs could carry me to get the camera and back to record this.

Taken it easy with lots and lots of rain so we've tried to do a lot indoors like making a TV out of a box, face painting, playdough, painting (and messing) and more. Here are a few pics!

I don't have a pee-pee

Leah is now going to the toilet for her wees which has gone quite fast- left her without diapers at home for less than 2 weeks. Lots of peed on panties and pants/tights but it's worth it- the first time she did a proper wee she exclaimed surprised 'I'M PEEING! LOOK!'
Today she's been trying to experiment a little, trying to stand up while doing it and when I said that only boys can do that she asks 'Why?' and I explain that they have pee-pees and girls have wee-wees. 'I don't have a pee-pee mamma! Why?' and on and on it goes, never ending questions of why. My big girl!

Arts & crafts and starbucks

We did some arts and crafts today after watching Stuart Little 2 and as usual Leah loves it- painting and glueing is the best! She made a santa (see pic) which I think is the nicest looking one I've seen in a long time!

Yesterday I had to go to a meeting at work so Micky and Leah came with to the mall and we had coffee before (Leah got juice in her fancy cup). She loves drinking from those cups!

Most of the house is finised and is acctually looking really nice- such a difference from before. Yay! Now it's just to fix the garden and resow the lawn but it'll not take that long.

New car...

So it has come to this...I've dreaded this day for a long time now, and have pleaded, reasoned with him not to and he stod firm (and almost stomping) saying 'I want it', so what Michael wants he gets, he bought a 2-door sportscar (!), the stupidest, egotistical, idiotic, moronic idea ever as far as I'm concerned! The car is fine, for a childless couple, but not for us, so I hate it!!!!!!!!!!!! He never listened to anybody who said it was a bad idea simply said 'I want it'...Oh so that's how it works?! I never knew it was that easy...

Everything is good at the moment- work is great, the people there are really nice and patient and it's good to finally get out. Eimear is bulding a 'grannyflat' at the bottom of the house so there's lots and lots of noise everyday, it's gonna be great when it's finished!

Leah is so much fun! She is so funny and 'lillgammal' some days, you forget that she's only 2. Bought her a puzzle book (9 pieces each) and she did it all on her own- the pride was welling up inside me when it happened! She also has many tantrums but if you nip it in the bud right away they're usually easilly handled. Most of the time though she's very loving and loves do dance and sing!

Grandpa Elof

Today my grandpa passed away. He'd been sick for a long time but seemed to get better but this morning he had another heart attack and his fragile body couldn't handle it anymore. Just wanted to share a few of my fondest memories of him.
I always had a great time in the country house and when we used to watch TV at night grandma and grandpa always fell asleep sitting up snoring loudly, but when asked are you sleepy you'd always get the same answer 'oh no I'm not tired'. and when I fell asleep I can remember the feeling of grandpa carrying me up the stairs and into bed.
I remember when I tried to dig up the potatoes and hopped on the spade in order to get it into the ground and puling them out. He always said I was so strong and marveled at how much I could eat, but nobody could eat before the 'master' had come to the table- haha!!
I also had a hard time understanding my tall grandpa, he could sit on the sofa combing his soft, semi-long brown hair talking very enthusiastically and I would just nod and laugh when he did (he had a loud hearty laugh) but really I hadn't a clue as to what he had said!

This is the grandpa I remember and will miss! Love you.

Dublin Zoo

Went to Dublin Zoo today and it was so much fun- Leah was giggling fanatically at the entrance and wanted to see the monkey all the time- then she only wanted to see the big monkeys, was her mantra for a while 'big monkeys, big monkeys, big monkeys!!'

I don't know, according to daddy she is a prodigy, the best dancer and singer, I let you make your own decision- I think she is pretty darn good!

Leah is always singing and it's difficult to catch her off-guard, but I did this time while she's watching Winnie the Pooh (Nalle Puh o Heffaklumpen). You really have to turn up the volume to hear her though... :)

Road trip- Carrick Fergus

Part one of the trip to Giants Causeway was when we kinda got lost (again) and ended up at Carrickfergus Castle, which was a beautiful castle with lovely surroundings and a pretty town.

Fairy Glen

We went to Fairy Glen for a walk and it was beautiful, felt a bit like walking by 'Larjean'. Leah enjoyed herself and was running around throwing sticks and everything else she could find into the stream. Good day!
