Leah makes a funny face!

Don't know were she learnt this, but funny anyway!

Saturday, 6 February 2010

In this past few weeks we haven't done too much just relaxed and watched movies at home.
Also, we went to a store to have a look at fridge/freezers and while I was busy with Leah, Micky was talking to the salesperson regarding different payment plans, just in case. He came back saying 'so should we put a down payment on this honey?' you gotta love him, falls for it every time, very easy to sell stuff to. But in truth, I'm very happy about getting the fridge, cause the other one was so old and kept freezing all the veggies and I ended up throwing most of them out cause of it. The new one is BIG and beautiful (if you can call a fridge that) and looks half empty even though we have plenty of food in it. :)
Leah is always up to pranks and is a real 'busunge' and as soon as I turn my back to her she'll go into our bathroom, turn on the taps, play and splash with the water, or she'll put a whole roll of toilet tissue in the toilet or use up a whole bottle of cream. Messy, and she thinks this is great fun even when I'm yelling at her. *sighs* She is also a very good girl for helping out in the house and likes to vacuum and wipe the tables. The other day I was in the kitchen reading and came back into the TV room and she was sitting on her potty in front of the TV- pooping!! Yay! I haven't put pressure on the whole pooping thing a felt that she'll get it on her own and sure she did! My reaction might have been a bit too much cause after she wanted to 'make more poop' as she said.
I'm growing slowly but surely and the baby is moving around quite alot still sleeping on one side, curled up. Going for my second scan on the 23 of Feb so hopefully we'll know what resides in my belly, if not we'll know soon enough!

baby on the move

The other day Michael got to feel the baby moving for the first time, he smiled so big!
I've felt it for a while but it's been so faint and butterfly-like, but the last week or so the baby has gotten stronger and is moving about more and has slept on the right side of my belly curled up like a little baby bunny- feels so funny. Like I have another little Leah in my belly again.

Funtasia Waterpark

Today we decided to go to a waterpark down south in Drogheda. It was big, loud and lots of slides and watercanons and other 'sprayers'. Leah was intimidated at first but then she was flying down the pink (why yes pink, off course) waterslide, telling us to stay behind cause she could do it all herself! Before she went down she counted 1-2-3-GO and her eyes got just as big as Aunties when she was going down and her little legs and bum seemed to have no control in this small (but big for her) slide. We also went down a slightly bigger one but I thought it was kinda scary, dark and I went sideways then under water, so when Leah and Michael came down she looked somewhat like a cat that had been trown into water- very funny! Michael was very brave and went for the really big ones and came back looking like a little boy in toyland.
We stayed for something to eat and had a look around, they also have a bowling alley, rollerscating rink and lots and lots of arcade games, but we were all so tired that we went straight home and Leah fell asleep with her head dangling.

Bread, bread!!!

Went to buy some fresh yeast today and the bakery only sold it in bars of 1kg so I guess I have alot of bread to do for the rest of the month! :)
Made some rosemary focaccia and regular white loaf with crunchy sunflower seeds ontop! Both turned out lovely!! Next up to make is 'tekakor' which I used to make with mum as a kid, so maybe this time Leah might want to bake with me. If you have any tips for more (yeast) bread send them to me as I have to use up my yeast, barely scratched the big lump!

Cold, cold winter...

It's really cold outside and all the trees and bushes in the garden are covered in this frosty snow, it is so pretty. Snapped some more pics of Leah in her christmas dress as well and she now poses with this special smile.

Merry Christmas!! / God Jul!!

We had a white Christmas (mostly frost and not so much snow but still- white!) with really good food and company. Dinner was great and stress free and I made this super tasty dessert (fig and walnut tart- www.uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/632849 ) and we lit a fire and relaxed infront of it after dinner. Leah was very happy with her presents as you can see in the videos!
